Word to the wise: if you're planning on doing a full album for Famicompo/Famicompo Pico in the future, *timestamp your tracks accordingly and don't make them loop if they're above four minutes.*

I decided to take part in Famicompo Pico 4 this year. Right from the outset I knew I probably wouldn't win anything (especially since I'm going up against chiptune composers who are far, FAR more experienced than I am), but I'd at least use this to figure out what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong. I wanted to try and do something fancy and do a themed album, and so I based each track on what I thought of when I look at each season (i.e. Spring being some sort of melancholy waltz, Winter being a laid back jazzy swing, etc). Of course, there are some parts I realized I could've improved on, partly because some of it got repetitive in certain parts, and partly because of what I said above. Specifically, I'm going to try to work on better instrumentation.

That being said, I'm at least proud of what I did for the contest, and I hope to try my luck again next time this rolls around. Congratulations to everyone who entered this year, there were some *really* impressive entries this year (I particularly loved Seven - Sun from flaminglog, that was super well done!). I'm posting my entry here to keep it all in one place. The album is completely free, but if you choose to purchase the album I won't stop you. Hopefully you enjoy it!
